The position will play a key role in defining, designing and developing a new platform to unify Merced product suite. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design and develop the next generation platform to integrate Merced products in an Agile development environment. The candidate will be an individual contributor and report to the Director of Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities


· Define, design and develop Merced’s new integration platform that will unify existing products and lay the foundation for future applications/products
· Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clearly understand business objectives, customer needs, and product requirements
· Define, analyze, and review software architecture and requirements for next generation Performance Management platform
· Drive technical design to consensus and approval with cross-functional teams
· Drive technical due diligence of technologies, applications and vendors and make analytical recommendations

Qualifications

· 8+ years of experience going through all software development phases in successful commercial software companies developing complex and scalable web applications
· Experience with Portlet, web services and enterprise portal (EIP) technologies
· Working knowledge with web services implementations (e.g. SOAP, XML-RPC, SOA, REST, etc.)
· Demonstrated experience in building large-scale enterprise applications using J2EE technologies
· Sound knowledge of database concepts; experience with data warehousing concepts/methodologies highly desirable
· Solid command of design patterns and OOP
· Great verbal and oral communication skills
· Work effectively well individually as well collaboratively
· Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions
· Self starter, fast learner, and hard working
· Readiness to work and collaborate with remote teams
· Sound knowledge of good software development practices
· Ability to give accurate development time estimates, keep projects on track, and give early warning when adjustments are needed
· Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus
· Comfortable working in a *nix-based development environment
· BS degree in Computer Science or related fields; advanced degree a plus
· Experience in one or more of the following are plusses: SOA, EAI, EII, cloud computing, Scrum development process, Business Intelligence and Incentive Compensation Management
